Early erotic stories

Image
I am still good Erotic romances    Years ago, I used to write erotic stories for lady friends - with their consent - I would presume to write an erotic romance for a lady unless I had her permission.  Even in those days I was a good writer, the stories were so good that they were able to give the lady's full sexual pleasures.  None of the stories mentioned exists as I sent them in private messages to my former friends. Oyster  Last year, the book showing here was banned by the publisher Oyster for being too erotic. I find the banning of Sexual Explosions amusing as A Sailor's Love  is far more arousing than Sexual Explosions , and yet that wasn't banned. Could it be the mention of the "S" word got the book banned?

Burned out

Image
The time has arrived No surprises for me #Burnout It comes as no surprise to me to find myself burned out. What surprises me is that it took so long to reach this stage, for some months the urge has been getting less and has now gone dead.  Respite breaks   Sometimes have a rest can work for me, I don't think it will clear this malaise. My problem is that despite the massive success of  my e-book Forgestriker nothing else has sold, which leads me to doubt my ability as a writer.  Sales    With this month beating last month's sales and heading to setting a new monthly high for sale, I should be raring to write, but I can't get started.   A lot of the malaise started and continues on from the non-selling e-novella A Sailor's Love. The book took fourteen months to write and never sold; add to that the non-selling award-winning Chronicles of Mark Johnson and you see where I'm coming from. The long road    The road in the photo was ta

The year I almost made the festival Ten long years Jazz festivals   My friends and readers of this blog will tell that I had longed to visit my home county of Yorkshire for more years than I recall. My family moved to the Bristol area in the winter of 1963, when I was seven. Alan Ayckbourn    One of my wishes was to see an Alan Ayckbourn play at the Stephen Joseph Theatre ; a wish I later attributed to seeing Brian Rix on TV in farces. This wish almost came true in 2010, on my last visit to Scarborough I could have seen Liza Goddard performing. The choice was to see the play or have a meal. My wife did ask if I had taken enough money on the trip when I departed. I replied that as the trip was a working holiday, and I had no intention of going in the arcades, I had enough for my needs. I would have had enough if I'd put the correct batteries in my camera. The batteries I installed were too weak, and I went through two batteries every day; this was the reason my ca

The new challenger A new challlenge has risen, with the large group of blog readers in Sweden yesterday; I suppose I should write some stories with a Nordic flavour; this is no problem as some of my fantasy storeis can easily be adapted.

The Nighthawk

Image
Free to read  The last two years have seen a lot of changes in my lifestyle.  I have cut my caffeine intake down to a minimum, this has helped both my mental health , and my sleeping habits. Other changes have occurred, but the major change is I am no longer a nighthawk up until the crack of dawn, driving myself on. If 2230 comes, and I am not watching a film or TV, I will not turn the TV on; if I am watching then I will continue until the film or program ends, after that I won't put another on that evening. Another great change occurred five years ago which had an impact on my mental health too; I stopped worrying if my eBook s would sell, as it became clear that no amount of me using my blog to promote my writing would increase sales.

Rivers of Blood

Enoch was right 1976 Immigration    In 1976, Enoch Powell warned that if immigration wasn't controlled the UK would be overrun. Tony Blair 's policy of allowing EU criminals to enter the UK and recommit crimes opened Pandora's box . Today, the UK finds itself in a situation where Muslim gangs run riot on our streets and the police can't touch them for being called racist pigs.  Rotherham riots    This video was shot earlier this week in Rotherham, West Yorkshire . Now who is to say we weren't warned. Hungary    I fully approve of the message sent by the people of Hungary We have armed police and soldiers, cross our borders and risk death.  Also the Bishop of Hungary has said the Pope is wrong, the Muslims have no right to expect any country to pay for their upkeep, while they plot to bring the west to its knees with wanton terrorism. This isn't a refugee issue, people on the run from violence don't waste food by throwing it on railwa

Taiwan

The Orient Taiwan The Far East    The new leader - other than the USA - in the spread of my work is Taiwan . I've never had much of a following in Asia, or Australasia. The main sales in this area are on my Kobo page. Yesterday, Taiwan pushed the UK into third place for blog readers.

The time has come to accept the inevitable

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome The day has arrived  Ehlers-Danlos syndrome    Many years ago I was informed by a specialist that I had   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehlers%E2%80%93Danlos_syndrome . EDS is a muscle wasting inherited disorder, the syndrome is incurable and irreversible.  Acceptance and desire.   Unlike some people I didn't get angry - I didn't see the reason for anger - I had inherited the illness from my mother, along with other genetic flaws (I found out later). Nothing I could do would change anything, I had to accept what I had and fight on.   I told my friends and family I would continue to walk as long ans the Lord permitted me to, and I have.  Ironic     While I was in the Royal Air Force , I injured my left tendon playing hockey. I didn't think any more about the injury until four years ago when the tendon tore. I knew I was running on a limited time frame before the tendon tore, the tendon is like an elastic band and mine had

My best sellers keep selling

Forgestriker at 18 months Sons of Baal It is hard for me to comprehend, but almost two years ago I wrote the opening story, Sons of Baal , in what became a hit series   http://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/forgestriker-collection.html#.VfA_rigViko   At the time I hadn't written any Sci-Fi, and I was wary of posting books on such an education based store as Barnes & Noble . My decision, to go ahead turned out to be a turning point in my writing journey.  Amazon    Back then, I was lucky to sell more than a book a month on Amazon - nothing has changed in that retrospect - my reputation was for writing ghost stories. Forgestriker In my mind the success of the second book in the series - Forgestriker - is connected to it being the title of the series. The book was written less than a month after SoB, and has not been my best seller only once in its 18 month time span - that was when it was deposed by SoB. Return of the Lost  The third book in the ser

18 months as my best seller

Is there no stopping Forgestriker I'm still amazed Forgestriker   The titular book of my hit series   http://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/forgestriker-collection.html#.VeYRtCgViko   is again my best selling book of the month.   I have no doubt that being the title book has helped boost its sales , but to remain my best seller for 18 months is some feat in itself. In all this time it only lost the title once - to Sons of Baal.
