An eye for an eye Was Mahatma Gandhi right? One of Gandhi 's philosophic idioms was "An eye for an eye, and the world will go blind." That maybe have worked in his day, but not in today's world of scumbags. Today, a man in St. Helens , Lancashire has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing three people. I bet he's laughing at the courts now. Okay, he's lost his freedom, but look at what he gained. Three meals a day, TV when he wants it, a snooker hall, someone to watch him 24/7 for the rest of his life, at the cost to the tax payers. The money would be better spent going to house and feed ex-servicemen who are seen begging on street corners, or to the senior citizens who have paid for their care - NOT to scum bag killers, and drug dealers. I know it isnt Christian, but I think the death penalty should be mandatory for scum such as these. or for anybody who kills a person in the comitting of a crime .
