I may have solved a puzzle that went back 50 years
No name was sent During my Royal Air Force days, I received a parcel from RAF Cottesmore , the puzzle was I didn't know anyone stationed there, and the parcel had no note attached to say who sent it. Today while reading a book about RAF bases from 1935 - 1945 I came across an idea who may have sent the parcel. Cottesmore, in Rutland, was used as a transport training station during World War 2 , and remained as such until late in the 1980's. I did know a young man from Bristol who could have been posted there after leaving RAF Swinderby .
