Indian History

How I got the idea for Project India The idea for my ebook based on the story came from several sources. The latest news is the story is now over 20 pages long, with the possibility of going on, I doubt it will reach novel length (40,000 words). History has been a subject of interest to me for many years. Part of the idea for my story came from seeing the film Thar on Netflix . After seeing the film I wanted to know more about the fort in the film, and its history . I am more interested in its history before the days of the British Empire , for this purpose I bought a book on the forts of India . The idea for the story came from a discussion I had on LinkedIn with some people in India. Few writers have written about North India as it is mainly desert, and populated with tribes of wandering bandits to this day. My idea was for a short story for the blog , but my friend and editor , Julia Petrakis , asked if I was going to turn it into a book she could edit? I have no idea how far I ca...

All for the price of a cup of coffee I keep asking why I should spend hours editing my short story selection of stories when none have sold other than my science fiction ? I am thinking of doing what I would never have supposed of before now, becoming a genre writer . Given a choice, I would have chosen ghost stories to write , but the style I like is not what sells as I prefer Gothic Horror, such as Cherie Priest writes, rather than the undead, not zombie , fiction which sells. Strictly speaking, "zombie fiction" has nothing to do with zombies. Zombies are people put in a trance by a voodoo high priest. They may have risen from the grave, but they look nothing like the films depict. There is a documented case of a man who lived in the state of a zombie for over 20 years in the USA . When he came out of the trance, he had no recollection of the decades he had lived through. My current project is two-fold as I am trying to rewrite one romance novel  while adding a second st...

Interest in my writing In the past, if somebody had asked where can I buy my ebooks,  I would have felt a surge of excitement, but over a decade of false hope of ebook sales going nowhere. I am now down to a state of ennui - if it happens, it happens. I know I can write a novel as I did it three years ago, but the point is, why dedicate days and weeks to  writing a book that no one wishes to read?

Indian Independence

Jewel in the Crown   Severa years ago , I had an  online interview with my Indian friend Malika Gandhi , in  the months after the interview we discussed Indian history as her book  "Freedom of the Monsoon" is  about I ndian Independence . During the talks I mentioned that my late father was out there for the RAF mutiny    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Air_Force_mutiny , this is a little known mutiny, because the government didn't want it known that the RAF had mutinied. This post came to mind as I am writing short stories about India.

I keep editing For several reasons, the least being the amount of adverse reaction I got when I said my romance novel was partially set in Israel , I am rewriting the book, this time with the lady working in Spain . The story's mystery is that though the lady lives and works in Spain, she does not appear to be Spanish. Added to my original story, the rewrite will have added tension between the two main characters.
