Here I am at the edge

  Bollywood I will be the first to admit that I avoided films from India called Bollywood as I thought they lacked quality, but this year thanks to Netflix I changed my opinion as there are several engrossing series on the site.  The only thing I do have against Bollywood is that many of the films are far too long at an average length of 2 1/2 hours; Alfred Hitchock never made a movie longer than 1 1/2 hours as he said that is how long the bladder can last before it needs to be emptied.

 Robin Hood With my interest in the history of Europe growing each week it was inevitable that a series would arise that likened its lead character to Robin Hood. One such series is the Flemish series Thieves of the wood , however there is one large difference the lead in the series is a man called Jan de Lichte who was a real person, whereas Robin Hood is still a myth. A better likeness to Robin Hood would be the Spanish outlaw known as Aguila Roja AKA The Red Eagle. Another series from Spain I am saving for is Las adventuras del capitan Alatriste .

Walter Presents. I waited for these series to come back on Walter Presents , and now they have I can hardly bear to switch the TV on to watch them. The problem is not that I lost interest, or that I watch movies from Spain now. The issue is that by 22:00 I am so bored I go to bed.

I don't seek out any type. I have no favorite type of lady, the only thing I don't go for is a thin model type which is why Penelope Cruz does little to arouse my interest; I am not saying she is unattractive, but not for me. Nor do I have a nationality preference, though you could think I have a tendency for ladies from Spain , or India if you read my blogs. If there was a type that attracts me, it is a lady with a strong personality, such as the ladies in the romance  stories I write and try to sell at Amazon . I have found if you have a good facial structure, your beauty will last a lot longer.

In the land beyond beyond My back is sore from humping and dumping for three days as we moved the garden around, so today I will search for some mislaid DVD sets. I know they are in my room, the question is where LOL?

I am not infallible . There are many complaints on the Amazon site about people buying a film and finding it has no English subtitles. As a rule, if I buy a foreign movie, I check it has English subtitles.  The film above is one that I had wanted to see for a while as it features Carmen Maura, who is one of my favorite actresses from Spain . However, the first version I bought was dubbed in German, I would rather listen to the movie in its original language, and read the subtitles than try to listen to a dubbed film. Another incident is my recent acquisition of a 2002 film from Belgium called Alias . I bought the movie because it has three of my fave actresses from Belgium in, Hilde van Mieghem ,  Veerle Baetens , and Hilde De Baerdemaeker . I should have realized buying the film from Italy it would be dubbed in Italian.

It is a shame mature ladies are not considered attractive I realize that it is a matter of choice, but to me, I think it is a shame that men do not appreciate older women more, and chase after young girls. I put this down to the male urge to prove to themselves that they have the power to attract a young lady as they enter late middle-aged. I never had the urge to prove myself in this way.  As Hanna said in my romance , "Are trees that have weathered the storms not as attractive as the young sapling?" None of the ladies on this post are under 50, and yet, to me, they are as pretty, if not more attractive, than some young models; especially those who stave to be thin. I can understand the attraction of younger ladies; even if I have never been known to chase them, I have always preferred a lady who has lived a life and has a story to tell.

The only vacation I will get The main reason I enjoy foreign films is that they show me cities and countries I will never see, hell, these days anywhere beyond my room will soon be beyond me :(                                           Ay, Carmela This film is set during the Spanish Civil War  and is the story of an actress (played by the beautiful Carmen Maura ) who refused to sing a song that betrayed her love of the country she loved and died for, Spain  before the revolution.                                                  Contratiempo This movie from Spain shows the lengths some parents are willing to go to for justice in the killing of their child, featuring Ana Wagener in an enthralling tour de force.

The Simple Life I qualify for a State Pension (66).  Though this will entail cutbacks in my spending, I will not be significantly affected as most of the things people do to relax I gave up many years ago. Though I went to Canada many years ago, I never had any great urge to travel abroad. If I did wish to travel, there are lots of places in England I would have liked to have seen.  I never had a driving license, so I don't need to worry about the upkeep of a car. I recently cut back on my drinking of both Coke-a-cola and coffee for the good of my health, and the benefits were seen quickly. I have never had a lot of money, so I get pleasure from doing things that I can enjoy for little expense such as I used to like walking in the woods, and by rivers enjoying nature , like the hero of my ebook above. I had a friend in Canada, whose mental health  would concern me if we had stayed in touch, all she did was preach to me about the sins of the world, and that Jesus will ...
