Here I am at the edge

 Caught in two minds I found myself caught in a dilemma of my own making this morning, why? I came across a film in the Nagin series that I had not heard about; the dilemma is two months ago, I set on a quest to research the Nagin series   https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.com/2023/03/the-new-nagin.html   of films, the series started back in 1954. In order to be true to my search, I need as many of the films as possible, this is where I cannot thank the  DVD Lady    https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.com/2023/04/dvd-lady.html   too much, they can supply two of the films in the series that are almost impossible to get anywhere else without paying a fortune. What is my dilemma? The film above is the one I found this morning, it is a slightly older version of one I bought a while ago; I was thinking of not getting it for this reason, but if I am going to do this quest, I need to be thorough. Sheshnaag For a few days last week, I was trying to locate the missing DVD that I bought from the US site DVD Lady    https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.com/2023/04/dvd-lady.html . I knew I had bought for, but could account for only three of the titles; then the dime nickel dropped :)  The reason I couldn't find the DVD is that I hadn't put it in with my horror selection, the film  Sheshnaag  had been added to my selection of DVDs about the shape-shifting snake Nagin . DVD Lady is the only site where I can find this film, I am now able to view all of the films in the series. The only thing in the series I am missing is the 2017 teen drama series, I did watch a part of an episode, but it did nothing for me. The reason is you cannot turn a good film into a series of over 46 1/2-hour episodes.  

 The Original Nagin Movie With my latest buy from eBay , I have completed the Nagin series of films available to buy. I can view the series from the original movie ( 1954 ) through to the cheap movies of the last five years, and give a reasonable opinion on how I rate the films. The bottom three are already set; the worst is without a doubt, in my mind, the new series. I am at a loss as to how you can turn a very good film of 1 3/4 hours, into a series of 1/2 hour episodes that run for several series. I can understand going back to show how Nagin became what she became, but this should only take a few minutes of screen time. I have to smile with the acquisition of this film, one of the "new" characters in the Harry Potter films came from a film that is two years older, maybe more depending on the month the film was released, than I am; making the character about 68 years old :) 

    A Rare Film I started to use a US site called DVD lady -    https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.com/2023/04/dvd-lady.html   - this month, mainly because they have several horror films from India, with subtitles, I wish to buy. The film shown above is a rare film in the Nagin series -  https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.com/2023/03/the-new-nagin.html  - it is so rare I have come across only one other copy, and that copy had no subtitles. I wanted to get this film as I can't evaluate the series, if the series is not complete, or as far as I can complete it.

 Nagin I doubt any of the fans of the Harry Potter films realize that J K Rowling took the character from a series of Hindi films going back to the 1950s. Nagin was a snake who could turn into a beautiful lady when she met her lover. She turned into a killer when four men killed her lover when they saw him as a snake and thought he was going to kill her.

 Operation DVD diver One of my delights in hunting older films from India is I came across a new section, to me, of films I consider very good - some I am not a fan of - but it is impossible to like all films. For a long time, I thought Indian movies were musical extravaganzas - some are - but most films from the 50s are good stories with a musical element. Unfortunately, for me, the trend has swung back with the rise of Shah Rukh Khan , and his namesake Salman Khan . Salman may like to consider himself the King of Bollywood , aparently if you cros him you don't work in Bollywood. As Bollywood covers about 80% of India there is little opotunity to make a successful film, as it won't get the neccessary publication. However, SK's last two films have "tanked" according the the IMDb ratings, neither got more than 3 out of 10. I made an error last week, I thought I was buying the film Jaani Dushman , which is a horror film, according to the full title the film is ...

A month of surprises The two big surprises from this month for me, are being paid by Draft2Digital for eight months royalties - all of $10 - and finding out I sold an eBook on Amazon ; I wasn't surprised it sold in Japan as I have sold several there through Draft2Digital. A smaller surprise was finding I had bought another film in the Nagin series, instead of the horror film I was expecting.
