The Battle of Kursk
A new era of warfare On this day in 1943, The Battle of Kursk began; this would become not only the largest tank-on-tank battle of World War 2 , but the last major tank battle as the face of warfare changed from huge tank battles to Guerrilla warfare . This is why Russia had trouble fighting in Czechoslovakia , Hungary , Afghanistan , and the Ukraine , for all the power, and strength tanks give in battle; when you are fighting a war on the streets a tank is a hinderance as they cannot move with the flow of the battle in confined areas.
