Here I am at the edge

  Forgestriker was not the opening To most people my first science fiction project is the best selling Forgestriker series, but this is not so as years before that I began an online serial called The Word which is inspired by Ray Bradbury 's short story Fahrenheit 451 .  After several weeks and 15 chapters, (about 90 pages), I stopped writing this serial that is why it is forgotten. Why did I stop writing in mid-story? The answer is easy to understand - I was writing as many pages at the time as the story was attracting readers, so I saw no point continuing a story nobody was interested in reading.  At the time of ending, I had developed several possible off-shoot story lines if the serial brought in sales, but as the readers are not interested they too were shelved.

It's been a long time since I sold ten e-books in one month. Don't ask me when the last month I had ten sales was? I have no idea, it was sometime in 2016 if I remember. This month for the first in a long time, the    Forgestriker series sold ten copies.  It is a long way from hoping to sell ten of one e-book in a day (my original goal), even with the numerous links on    https://www.draft2digital.com/book/32929   I rarely sell more than one e-book a week, mo fault of the site.

The entire series in one day I am in shock, for only the second time in two years, the whole   Forgestriker  series sold in a day. These sales give me my month's target of 10 e-books but in only a week, anything more is a bonus for me.

I try to believe in my value It is very hard for me to believe that I wrote a #BestSelling #scifi series that has sold over 670 #ebooks in two and a half years but the success of  Forgestriker   is hard to escape. You would imagine being an  award-winning  writer would spur me on, but I have great trouble believing in my value as a writer with few books outside my series selling.

A slow month  August is all but over, and it's been a slow month for my sales. Other than one brief moment of joy when  Forgestriker  sold four copies in a night, the downward trend has continued despite the release of  Avenging Angel   and  The Cursed   on  Barnes & Noble .

Sci-Fi bestseller It is hard to imagine being a bestseller but not selling on  Amazon . But, that is my situation, none of my hit series  Forgestriker e-books have sold on Amazon, despite selling over 670 copies on  Barnes & Noble . The last two months have been exceptions to the rule, with Amazon matching sales on B&N, mainly because B&N sales have slackened off.

Don't ask me why the series became a bestseller. I have no idea. I'm amazed as anyone, at the continued sales for my #scifi   series. To date (21/10/19), the series has sold over 850  ebooks . All on Barnes & Noble . I did consider writing further stories of the exploits of the men, soon to be women, of the 7th but sales for the series, in general, have been weak with Forgestriker  selling 350 copies.   Book 7 ( Caldera Awakens)

Red Dwarf  The title comes from an episode of the  #scifi   comedy series   http://www.reddwarf.co.uk/home/index.cfm . The quote refers to a time when Rimmer met a Rimmer from another dimension, which was entirely opposite to the character in the series.  Multiverse Although a comedy series that doesn't take itself too seriously, the series did cross into Quantum Physics with this episode. There is a theory that for every choice we make, a universe gets created for the opportunities we didn't take; thus creating an endless multiverse.  This concept may sound incredulous but consider my life. I get up from my chair and go to my door, a left turn takes me to the bathroom - a right turn takes me down the passage. At this point, I can go up the stairs (I don't do this too often as I am physically challenged ), or I can go to the front door. At the end of the drive, I can turn right or left, each turn creating a new world and each turn I don't take creat...
