Here I am at the edge

 Caught in two minds I found myself caught in a dilemma of my own making this morning, why? I came across a film in the Nagin series that I had not heard about; the dilemma is two months ago, I set on a quest to research the Nagin series   https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.com/2023/03/the-new-nagin.html   of films, the series started back in 1954. In order to be true to my search, I need as many of the films as possible, this is where I cannot thank the  DVD Lady    https://hereiamattheedge.blogspot.com/2023/04/dvd-lady.html   too much, they can supply two of the films in the series that are almost impossible to get anywhere else without paying a fortune. What is my dilemma?   The Rumplestiltskin Effect Years ago, my wife and I told our children they would get no inheritance from us; our thinking is we would rather give them what help we can now when they need it; rather than leave it for when we die. The situation reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode; four men lock themselves in sealed containers in a cave with a stash of stolen gold, hoping to come back years later and spend the money. However, one of the chambers gets broken over time, leaving the other three men wondering if it was done on purpose. A fight ensues, and one of the men gets shot; one of the remaining duo goes crazy and walks into the desert to die. The remaining man stumbles around with his ill-gotten gains; trying to see where he can get food with his gold.  Laptop Clear out I am clearing out my laptop, the reason is I have lots of things taking space which I never used such as the Flixicam software to download films from Netflix . It would work if I had a PC, not a laptop, at the moment my PC is waiting to be set up. Removing older software is helping the performance, but I am still unhappy with the laptop,

 Neuralgia Last night was the worst since my fall at the start of the week; I couldn't get to sleep. This was because, for the early part of the night, I was suffering from a shooting pain that covered the right-hand side of my face; at one point I was considering phoning the doctor to see if I would require another brain scan . I asked for the other one several years ago as I was concerned about my mental health , in that case, I got the all-clear. I did some research online and decided to take a paracetamol tablet, this cleared the headache apart from my lingering pain over my right eye; this pain is caused by  Neuralgia from a sports accident that blocked my sinuses when I broke my nose. The situation was made worse during the Summer of 1984 when I was in Scotland , I had to ride out to the aircraft and the ride was into a setting Fall sun that bounced the rays off the tarmac standings.  An Ongoing WIP Coming Soon I hope to release this short story as an ebook by the end of August; the story is 25 pages long now. Maxine "Max" Bernbech and her friend Kim Altland had lived together before Kim's promotion came through as editor of The Jewish Week. When the news was official, Max rented out her Barcelona apartment and moved to Haifa to be close to Kim. However, at the best of times, it was a strained relationship.  Max was sitting at her desk writing in her journal; recalling her dreams of being with Kim. On this day she checked her files to find she had lost track of a story she had thought about the previous night. She paused to stretch and make a cup of herbal tea to wake her mind; as she got up, her phone rang. The caller ID showed it was Kim calling, "Hi, what can I do for you, Kim?" she asked. Some people would say, "Your blog is being read", to this I would reply, "People will read anything, if it is free, go into a doctor's waiting room and look at the patients reading magazines which are months, if not years, old."

 Selling Ghost Stories One of the things that would please me the most is if my ghost story  https://www.draft2digital.com/book/ selection began to sell. I always wanted to be known for my ghost story writing ability. My earliest reputation for writing came from writing spiritual short stories.

 A Misunderstood term A term I often read, yet remains undefined is " The Modern Age ." How do you define the Modern Age? In terms of acting, do you mean people who are acting now, this decade, or this century? People often refer to "The Golden Age" meaning a time when they consider the best films and shows to come out, but again, that changes with time, and the people you talk to. The Golden Age of ladies is supposed to be in their 40s, I have to agree with this as by this time a lady has had a life to talk about.

 Sugar I am not saying any one part of my regimen is the major part of the success of my weight loss , as each of the parts played a vital role. The largest contributor is probably cutting down on coffee ; this had a knock-on effect of cutting down on sugar and biscuits. Cutting back on coffee had the added benefit of helping my mental health too. Another major factor is changing from cooking using fat, to using sunflower oil , or garlic . I didn't need to cut down on fatty meats, I don't like fatty foods.  Eating nuts and fish is no issue as I enjoy both. I didn't need to pay for a diet sheet, I was already doing what they would ask me to do.
