Here I am at the edge

 Does the sun turn you crazy? A few weeks ago, my wife and I were watching a video on fishing on  YouTube which reminded me of the phrase by Sir Noel Coward , " Only mad dogs, and Englishmen go out in the midday sun " Back to the question in mind, what made me ask the question? The video is of a man from South Africa who decided to try to catch the largest fish in Africa . This fish is so dangerous, the natives will not attempt to catch it as it can kill a man with ease. If you think that is bad, wait for the best part; the fish is only found in the Congo delta; if you didn't know the Congo is the most dangerous river on Earth as it drops rapidly creating massive whirlpools, eddies, and undertows that can sink a boat in seconds. The best is yet to come; if he did catch a fish, he had to give it to the tribal chief as payment for fishing in the river. SO, you risj your life, catch the fish, and then give it away.

 Readers in distant shores Yesterday, my blog finally attained some readers in India . I was wondering if the day would come as I do write a lot these about India, Bollywood , and Hindi movies I have in my collection. One thing which would be interesting, for me, is to not only know the country I get readers from, but to know the cities they live in. Some areas such as Hong Kong , and Singapore are self-explanatory. Ogther countries are so small they have few major cities, and others such as the USA have so many, the readers could be anywhere.

 The danger to an Indie Writer Why do I write about scams ? I try to make readers aware of the some of the dangers which lurk in the modern world. I have been the victim of a few scams, and also had several young ladies attempt to scam me over the years. Some of the young ladies were attractive, but some of the scams were too crazy to be though of as serious options. One young lady wanted me to pay for her to have her car transported to Southampton from Nigeria , and stored until she could pick it up; that was so stupid I laughed at her, in my reply. She was so desperate for the plan to work, she agreed to my terms for acceptance; I got what I wanted, but never had any intention of giivng her the money.  Some scams such as Bitcoin, appear good value on the outside, but danger lurks within. I was approached by an attractive young lday from New York on Facebook to join the Bitcoin fund. From the off, I knew it was a scam, why would an attractive young lady in New York cont...

  The book fair scam The classic scam run by a Vanity Publisher  is the book fair scam. This is how it works. They will send you a list of fairs they "claim" they will show your books at, the scam is they never go. The firm know you can never go to these fairs to check if your books are there, and if one of the fairs is close to you, as one was seveal years go when I was on a site based in Germany . The writing site I was on hired a stall at a fair in L os Angeles , as one of the writers in the group lived on the outskirts of the city she visited the fair to see her books. What she found, after hours of searching, was that the publisjer had hired a stall no bigger than a removal van on the edge of the grounds, so,IF they did go, they could "claim" they were there, but you never found them as there were so many stalls. The liklihood is they never go, Vanity Publishing runs on scamming a writer to earn its keep, so spending money to go to a fair is NOT an option.

The price of the SCAM  These young ladies would be exempt from the price to pay for attempting to scam me , why? Pur simply, they maybe young, and attractive, to some men , but they have nothing to offer me. To use an apt analogy, for me, it is like comparing Twiggy with Jane Russell . Twiggy never did anything for me, Jane didn'y need to try to be alliring, she was with no effort.

  The next scam attempt The next young lady who tries to involve me in her Crypto scam , there will be more I am certain, will find herself playing by my rules, if she hopes to keep her hopes up; not that she will get anywhere with me.

 It was a no-win gamble Another scammer lost her way; she was on a loser from the get-go, and never knew what she was against. There is no way I was joining WhatsApp , or Telegraph , even before I found out they are riddled with scammers . If you aren't content with chatting on Twitter , there is something off about your actions. She never did answer the $1 question, "why does an attractive young lady wish to chat to an old sea-dog like me?"
