Why do I write about scams so often?
The danger to an Indie Writer
Why do I write about scams?
I try to make readers aware of the some of the dangers which lurk in the modern world.
I have been the victim of a few scams, and also had several young ladies attempt to scam me over the years. Some of the young ladies were attractive, but some of the scams were too crazy to be though of as serious options.
One young lady wanted me to pay for her to have her car transported to Southampton from Nigeria, and stored until she could pick it up; that was so stupid I laughed at her, in my reply. She was so desperate for the plan to work, she agreed to my terms for acceptance; I got what I wanted, but never had any intention of giivng her the money.
Some scams such as Bitcoin, appear good value on the outside, but danger lurks within. I was approached by an attractive young lday from New York on Facebook to join the Bitcoin fund. From the off, I knew it was a scam, why would an attractive young lady in New York contact me?
She didn't know I had researched Bitcoin for months, and knew her claims to be untrue. She claimed you can quadruple your investment in two years; sounds too good to be true - adopt rule 101 (if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is) - Bitcoin is a classic pyramid selling scam. You earn your salary by conning others to join; they higher up the pyramid you are, the more people below you, and the greater your earnings. BTW, pyramid selling has been illegal since the 1980's, and is so bad even China banned it, and China has links to 80% of cybercrime.
Many moons ago, I adopted the safety first plan; if I get approached on Twitter by a young lady, my reaction is what do you get out of it?
