Where Now?

More Romance? Aruna Irani At the moment, my focus for a story is India . I have for a long time had an interest in the state, it has nothing to do with either the series The Jewel in the Crown , or the movie The Far Pavillions . My interest goes beyond the days of the Raj, and the British Empire ; I am a Royalist , but not an Imperialist . I believe the best people to run a country, are the people living there, not some far-off- politician . On a more fundemantal basis, few Empires last, mainly because the are so costly.  I have several ideas for stories, I will need to consider how I can write them to fit this blog . I realise the readershp on here is low, but at least it will get read over time, if I put these for sale, there is little chance any will be bought as I don't write the type of story that sells these days.

The title means judge in matters of taste.  Again, the readers prove me wrong. Three years ago, I made a rep for ghost stories. Two years ago I wrote an award winning e-book   https://www.draft2digital.com/book/32117   I hope to re-peat the award this year with   https://www.draft2digital.com/book/34522   and yet the sales eluded me.   This year, I joined Draft2Digital and have found a new readership in Sci-Fi, a genre I thought would be one of weakest, but with the sales of   http://alsdomain.weebly.com/forgestriker---the-hit-series.html   thriving, I am proven wrong.

Mousehole, Cornwall

This print had been at the top of my parent's stairs for as long as I remember. Recently it came into my possession, and certain facts emerged. The family assumed it was by a Whitby artist -- wrong -- the artist is London based Vernon Ward. The picture is of Mousehole, Cornwall and not Whitby. What caught my eye, is there is no abbey in the background. On further examination, the perspective is wrong for Whitby too.

A Lesson I learned quickly This post I dedicate to the people who said they would buy my ebooks but never did. Once, I used to get excited when I read "Where can I buy your books?" After reading the question a dozen times with no result, you tend to ignore it, so you don't feel anything when nothing happens.  Probably by the end of the month, I shall have placed my final ebook for sale on Draft2Digital . I have plans for two more to come out, both stories are set in India . One is with my friend/editor, Julia, in Seattle , and the other one I am writing now, and will edit to the best of my ability. After this month, I am not certain if I will be writing this blog; nothing happens in my life to write about or be of interest to readers of my blog .

I don't do ghosts

Image
https://www.draft2digital.com/book/34522  / http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HVHY6PU This will be my final ghost story. The reason is although I enjoyed writing them and made a reputation for good spooky tales. Nobody bought any, so, in the end you made the decision easier to make. The book took FOURTEEN months to write -- over a year -- it has been on sale for four months and hasn't sold a copy. I got the message, thanks for the time but no thank you.  I won't be doing any more novella's,I had my doubts about this one, and they were confirmed. The only ghost stories I am writing are for my friends, who do enjoy them and appreciate the time it takes to write and edit the book.

Medieval Fantasy

Mordhiemicus Comments on the book "To Elfenmere." This book is on sale at several ebook selling sites. This is  one of my early stories and got this comment from Emma Oram -- editor of Vintage Script magazine -- who has a degree in Medieval Studies from the University of Suffolk. Anyway, this is my personal take: Well, what a story! You certainly know how to tell a tale and the imagery is very striking, as is the sense of suspense. Keep up the good work! This comment came from Yezall Stongheart -- author of Bring 'em' back alive. Al Place has a way of spinning a tale that gets you turning the pages only to realize you are on the last page! The story was full of action and just when I was ready for more the story ended, although it was a complete story. The dialogue was exciting and the characters real. Looking forward to the next one! Mordhiemicus is on sale at several sites, and has been for five years, if you wish for a fix of bargain price f antasy .

Forgestriker - the hit series

Image
The books which are selling best at B&N are the Forgestriker series.                       The series begins with Sons of Baal   https://www.draft2digital.com/book/32173    followed by the big seller Forgestriker   https://www.draft2digital.com/book/32492     and Return of the Lost   https://www.draft2digital.com/book/34743  .  Fourth in the series of short stories is Terrors of D2   https://www.draft2digital.com/book/37277   and the latest which came out last week is Flying Blind   https://www.draft2digital.com/book/40182    For the present, I am bringing the stories out on or about the 15th of the month. In the future -- sales permitting -- I might bring them out as one collection. The series is only available from  Barnes & Noble .
