The Battle of Kursk
A new era of warfare
On this day in 1943, The Battle of Kursk began; this would become not only the largest tank-on-tank battle of World War 2, but the last major tank battle as the face of warfare changed from huge tank battles to Guerrilla warfare.
This is why Russia had trouble fighting in Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Afghanistan, and the Ukraine, for all the power, and strength tanks give in battle; when you are fighting a war on the streets a tank is a hinderance as they cannot move with the flow of the battle in confined areas.
