Here I am at the edge

Leicester City. While reading the article on the Leicester City plane crash in the current issue of Premier Christianity  magazine, I was saddened at the loss of life; but it is a sign of the times.  When I used to watch Bristol Rovers , the only transport available for away matches was the club coach, and players were bought for their talent at playing.

One of the reasons I didn't post yesterday. I have days when I don't post, the reasons are varied from not having something to say I feel is worth writing about to being ill. Yesterday, I didn't post because I was suffering from a bad night and I was exhausted.

The freebie month is over. Your month of free e-books is over; the month yielded 85 free e-books taken, with the Pat Canella story "The Dockland Murders" being the most taken. The fun is over, now down to the hard sell of my books; there still are many free items on my page at Draft2Digital , but the ones for sale have had a slight price increase.

It is hard to think that November is almost here. It is such a glorious day it's hard to think November is only a few days away. November is a time of remembrance for me, as it was the last time I saw my late friend, Faye, in Lac La Biche , Alberta , Canada . It is now nine years since I came back from my visit to my adopted homeland, and I still miss Canada.

Will book 3 in the series get written? I did write the sequel to my   award-winning ebook   several years ago. I had plans for a small series of possibly four books, but the first book never sold after the award was given.

Fear not. Have no worries, though there are many Christian posts on here; I have no more intention of turning my site into GodTube than into a book blog .

Your faith does not bother me. I have no objection to anyone's religion as long as they respect my freedom not to have their beliefs forced on me. I have friends of several ideas; when I make friends, religion is not put in the equation as I have friends whose faith I have never known. I never knew about their beliefs because the topic of religion didn't come up in our conversations. Peoples sexual orientation is another thing that does not bother me for the same reason.

The last days of free e-books. In three days   Oktoberfest   will be over, I have no illusion that next week it will be back to drawing blood from a stone to get even one sale.

The Word. Today, I started a new version of my science fiction serial -  The Word . This serial goes back several years and is still unfinished.

Erotic romances. Before I go further, let me state that I am not a prude as I have written two erotic romance short stories .  Several years ago, I got offered the opportunity for a contract to write erotica ; the problem was that the remit of the firm was open and I found myself questioning the boundaries of what I could write, and for how long? I did try to write a story but writing a story based on sex I found upsetting to the point I was physically ill. Other than that, I would find it hard to write a story where sex is the central theme. Some of my stories have sex in them, but the sexual aspect is part of the story, not the central theme of the writing.

No prophet. I am not being irreligious or calling myself a prophet, this post is about how people are received in their country. The verse in the Gospel of Luke I am referring to is  Luke/4-24 . When the Lord said, "Truly, I tell you, no prophet is accepted in his hometown." This is precisely how I feel about the UK. My writing has been accepted, and I sell e-books in the USA, but I think that I am not recognized in the UK as I have yet to make any substantial e-book sales here. Bible stories. Another story from the Bible also applies to how I think, it is the story in Genesis  of the lean years. If I get a good month, I always put some money away for the harder times; you could say it is a Christian way of doing things, I tend to put saving for the hard times down to never having a lot of money.

Draft2Digital is a growth area for writers. In a weeks time, I will be putting the prices on my stock of e-books at Draft2Digital . My Amazon stock will still be for sale, but as the site has done less for me in six years than Draft2Digital does in six months don't expect many new books on Amazon.com . Draft2Digital has shown a growth of over 120% in the last year as more writers find it more profitable to be there than struggle to sell on Amazon.

As I thought To some writers today could have been an eye-opener, to me it showed me what I had thought for a long time; what did it prove? Today, I have been busy, so I hadn't the time to check on my blog reads, so the figure fell from a couple of hundred to less than 100. Showing me, what I had known for years, there are few people interested i what I write .

The Word. On my page -  The disabled writer  - the leading character mentions a science fiction series that he recently unearthed from his files. This series does exist, as yet I have not finished the series; if anyone is interested, I will post the series online.

A Sailor's Love. The lady on the cover of my romance short story -   A Sailor's Love   -   is the singer, Janey Kirk . This story has an open ending because if it had sold, I intended to write a sequel. 

Old Church ghosts Special Editon. For Halloween why not treat yourself to this special edition of my popular ghost collection --  Old Church Ghosts - Special edition . This selection features the version of my story that was only available to read for a week several years ago on a friend's website.

Why me, Lord? Underway is the sequel to my   Amazon bestseller   -  Holding Richmond . I have started two versions that may end up as an extended single version; one has a revenge theme, and the other is about how the war changed a man's life.

Happy birthday In two weeks it will be ,y birthday; if you read the blog you will know I rarely do any self-promotion ; in some cases I can make an exception. The best gift you can get me is to buy one of my eBook selection from Amazon ; they are good value, inexpenive, and I hope the sales will boost my profile. If that happens, I may get more sales, which will encourage me to write .

Am I going senile? I am not sure if when I heard my name called when nobody called me is a sign of wanting to feel needed or the early sign of dementia .

Brexit will be soon. The  #RemainInEU  faction has tried all sorts of dirty tactics to stop  Brexit , and each is just another showing of how desperate they are. We've had the world won't trade with the UK - we have countries asking us NOT to rejoin the EU so they can broker deals with UK firms. We had jobs will be lost - there is a boom now with firms seeking jobs in the UK. House prices will rise by over 10% - they have fallen, and more houses are being built creating jobs in the building trade.  People who think the UK needs EU dairy produce clearly have not tried the cheeses from the EU. The UK has a greater choice and better tasting cheeses than any country in Europe; I should know, I worked on the continent for three years. The latest from  Project Fear  is beyond a joke. According to them, if we get  Brexit , the population of the UK will die at 42. To many this would be a relief as it would eradicate the biggest scam in the UK; the...
