50 years on

 Yon Kippur

Here is a flash of history that people who say Israel is the aggressor in the Middle East choose to forget.
In 1973, Israel would have fallen to Syria if it hadn't been for a junior officer not being willing to push forward without permission. At the height of Yon Kippur - the day of attonement - when the state prays; the Syrian Army stood on the Golan Heights ready to cross. At that time, there was only a few soldiers guarding the post, his inaction allowed them to raise the alarm, and mobilise the IDF (Israeli Defence Force).
