Ladies were treated better in the past in Bollywood

The Golden years

With the exceptions of Raveena Tandon, and Shefali Shah, ladies in Bollywood today are treated worse than their counterparts in the 1950's.
The male was usually, not always, the headliner. In some of Raj Kapoor's films he was listed third on the bill, even though he owned the studio, and produced the movie. The actresses in those days were treated with respect, even if they were not headliners; these days they are mostly eye-candy, or a name to put to a bad film.
