Alan Place - Retail Trader
Silly things people say
Last night, I was reading some of the feedback comments on eBay, for me as a trader in DVDs.
One seller, who I upset about a month ago, made a stupid comment; he said I only bought DVDs to resell them, not true, I have a collection of almost 200 which I have no intention of selling.
The crime which he accused me of forms the basis of retail trade, which the site is part of. Look at what you buy. Whatever you buy someone has made, and unless the produced the raw materials they bought them from someone.
I cannot say if his comments affected my sales, I sell so few DVDs, that has little, if anything to do with the comments made, the lack of sales is more likely linked to the dates of the DVD I am selling (1940 - 1998); not many viewers of Bollywood DVDs are interested in films that old.
My beef was not with what he sold, but with his postal charges; he charges the same for a Blu-Ray disc - without the box - as you pay for a medium sized book. I doubt my comment on his postage had a lot of effect, what hinders his sales is he limits his catalogue to Blu-Ray discs, and not everyone wants them; I have some, as a rule I prefr to buy a DVD.
