 Generalisation

It is my opinion that everyone is allergic to something; most people are fortunate not to find out what is thier allergy - I am not one of them.

Six years ago, when we were forced to move to our present location, I was eating what I considered a healthy diet of lettuce, vegetables, and cheese drizzled with grapefruit juice.

One afternoon, I decided to check on my medication, I can;t recall why, to find out that what I was taking in - grapefuit juice - could react with some of my tablets. Here I am, all these years later, and only a lttle worse for wear - nothing to do with those days.

I think it wrong to issue a general health warning against food, when only a small percentage of the population could be affected. Ro me, it is an individual choice; I know what I am allergic too, so I avoid as far as possible eating/drinking those items, I would never say everyone should avoid them because of my situation.

I decided to stop taking some medication I was precsribed, not because of a food allergy; it was found I had a kidney growth. I had the choice of suffering a lttle back pain, or risking a damaged kidney - not a choice at all.
