Flash Fiction

  No room for expansion


This story is as close to Flash Fiction as I have come I suppose.
The problem for me with Flash Fiction, stories under 1,000 words, is that by the time you get into your story, you need to thinking of the ending as there is no room for character, or story expansion.
Most of my short story selection are closer to 5,000 words than 500 words. I did try flash once, but  never felt happy writing something so short.

A state of hearing

Or more aptly - a state of non-hearing.    A  short while ago I conjectured was I getting hearing problems through a wax build or was it because I work for many hours in the presence of washing machines and tumble driers in a small space.   I have to inform you as far as I am able to tell I am going deaf, another problem inherited from my mother.  On the down side, there is no point in getting the PS3 I was looking forward to getting at the end of the month :(  On the up side, at least I won't have to listen to the stupid rows of the family next door and the money saved from not getting a PS3 I can put to a new laptop; which I do need.

Forgestriker- the collection

The collected stories of the Forgestriker crew These are the stories of the men aboard the research vessel  Forgestriker ; sent to set up a listening station on the planet Gameroom, then men find out that all is not what it seems.
