The Life of Alan
An Intersting time
This is a rare post about myself.
Some people I used to chat online to said they thought I'd had an interesting life; in some ways I suppose I have. I've been places I never thought of going, and had more than my share of looking at death.
There were many places, in the UK, I wished I'd visited - too many to list - but, I've seen places like Elgin, Aberdeen, and Edingburgh that I never thought I would see.
Coming from a fishing family, I love being by the sea. In 2010, I achieved an ambition that had been on my wish list since 1964, when we left Yorkshire, I returned to Scarborough - my favourite resort.
Six years ago, I completed a wish I'd had since the late 1980s, I always said I wanted to return to Southanpton, where my late aunt lived, and I finally returned for the first time since 1963 when the Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Mary left on their final voyage; that was a truly beautiful sight.
