The Kapoor girls
Daughters of the Cinema
Unlike their mothers, with the exception of Sridevi, who is forced to quit acting once they join the Kapoor family; the daughters are permitted to have careers.
I can't form an opinion of all the girls, as I haven't seen them all in action; so here are a few thoughts on those I have seen.
Kareena Kapoor - I saw her in a film, which if I was looking at the cast now, I would not watch; it had Aamir Khan in too, and I can't abide him - the film was about a policeman trying to solve the murder of a prostitute while trying to cope with the loss of his son. It was an excellent film. Ms. Kappor played the part of the victim well.
Shraddha Kapoor - I saw Ms. Kappor in the film, Saaho (an ultra-modern action movie) which left me less than impressed, it was all about gadgets, like most of the modern James Bond films. I also saw her in a small part in the movie Stree which is a horror film based on an urban myth; again I was less than impressed.
Jahnvi Kapoor - of the three sisters I have seen, this young lady struck me as the best of the group. She was in the comedy Roohi playing the kidnap victim of two young men, what they didn't realize when they kidnapped her is she has two personalities; that is where the fun comes in as one of the men loves the girl and the other loves her alter-ego, the witch. Jahnvi was also in a segment of the series ghost stories in which she played the role of a nurse looking after an elderly lady who thinks her son is coming back to look after her; it turns out the son never turned up, and the lady died three days before the nurse arrived. This section reminds me of the death of actress Parveen Babi who was found dead in her flat when neighbors noticed her milk hadn't been collected for three days. Ms. Babi died from a wound that was gangrenous after three days of her lying on the floor; what is sadder is that toward the end of her short life, this beautiful young lady, and a fine actress, suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, and was certain people were trying to brainwash her. These didn't only include people in the cinema in India, but President Bill Clinton.
As I say, I can only comment on the few sisters I have seen, as far as I am aware, there are five more young ladies in the family, the most well-known is Kharisma Kapoor who acts in a lot of musicals with Shah Rukh Khan which explains why I haven't seen her as I have seen a couple of films with him in, and I don't like him. The fact he shares the same last name as Aamir means nothing, the surname Khan in India is as popular as Williams or Evans in Wales; all it means is somewhere back in history their family probably had something to do with royalty.
