The world of televangelism is the work of Satan.
One pastor made so much money he bought his wife a Ferrari for her birthday, and another owns several planes. To some extent, I can agree with buying a plane as many regions of the USA are far from cities so having a plane makes contact easier, and a second plane is useful in case the first is out-of-action, but several is obscene to me.
Another case features the singer Kim Hopper; the young lady came from one of the most prestigious Gospel-singing families in the Americas, and married into the Hopper clan. Three years ago, the family had news that the mother Connie had a cancer relapse, and may be at death's door.
Considering the Hoppers are at the top of the Gospel tree, they are not poor, but on hearing this news, Kim did what I can only describe as a Dolly Parton make-over. She went from a lovely nut-brown hair color to Platinum Blonde and botoxed her lips. The only thing missing was she doesn't have Ms. Parton's bust.
This so appalled her fans, YouTube of her at the time was filled with comments such as "So, this is where the money goes!"
Fortunately, for both Connie, and the family, she recovered, and the first order from Queen Bee Connie was to tone down her image as it was harming the rep of the family.
On the other side of the coin are the Hemphill family; they are as well-known as the Hoppers, but put their money into feeding and giving shelter to the poor of the area. Their soup kitchens come with two clauses, you need to sing a few hymns, and say a prayer, but if this means you get some food and shelter it is a small price to pay.
The daughter, Candy Hemphill, went the other way to Kim Hopper. Instead of trying to make herself more attractive, which would have been almost impossible, as she had a gorgeous head of jet-black hair, Candy toned her appeal down by having most of her hair cut off.
