Here I am at the edge

My BFF will always be with me. The two things I need most now are the time to get into writing a story, and a short respite vacation to get over the loss of my Best Furry Friend. I can afford a short break, I do not get a substantial allowance for my disability, but then again I do not spend a lot.

,What is my value? I don't count  Amazon  in these figures - as I have not sold anything there since I can recall. Most authors won't tell you what they earn. Here are my figures; I have 35+ e-books on twelve sales platforms, and still earn less than $1 a week as a  writer , most of the "sales platroms" used by Draft2Digital are lending libraries , not places to buy an ebook . Blogging away for free In a way, I am pleased that you enjoy reading this blog for free ; it shows me that perhaps on some plain my writing has little value

  The voices have spoken to me again . I don't have a comfort zone, as some writers do. When I write, I usually write what takes my interest; one thing I can admit is that if anything, I am not predictable in my stories, which is what a lot of the readers of my short stories love. They cannot tell what will happen in any given story because I cannot predict how the story will turn out. So far, I have not written a story about trans people, but that could change soon. The lady on this post is an example to show that Trans is beautiful , in my opinion.

Nationalism With  Brexit  and the rise of  Nationalism  across  Europe , many fear a resurgence of the Nazism of the 1930's, but that will never come back.   The German population is NOT behind their leader as they were behind Hitler; even members of her party want  Angela Merkel  out after the mess she has made of  Germany .   She has nobody writing her speeches as Hitler did.  The  Russia  of the 1930's no longer exits, most of the former Soviet bloc countries have separated from Russia, and many have split into factions within what would have been the old boundaries. Germany is in no position to start a war, in the 1930's they were still angry over the Versailles Treaty that blamed them for  World War 1 and was building warships secretly.  The Germany of today needed the  UK  in the  EU ; without the UK, Germany is heading to a recession the likes of which they have not witnessed...

I am not sure if being a multi-genre writer has helped me. Readers who have followed me for years will know that I earned reputations for writing in several genres. My earliest reply was for supernatural/ spiritual stories, later came crime, and finally science fiction. ​ I am not sure if this is a bonus. My Amazon bestseller is fiction based on a Victorian mystery Did we see him? . The only book to get a 5-star rating is based on a spiritual adventure Nerja . In recent times, I have written a Christian Fiction romance called A Homecoming . This book took two years to write and is a bargain at only $9.

North Yorkshire ghosts I don’t check my  Amazon UK  page for sales, as they are rare. Today, by accident I did, to find that my oldest /  bestselling ghost  story has sold again. Shit happens  After my massive let down last week; I have decided to go ahead and  self-publish  my story  www.amazon.com/dp/B075BJH2D2   / www.draft2digital.com/book/235628 ​ After all, what else can I lose? The covers for the book and e-book have already cost me over $250, and I have seen nothing back.

The switch-hitter To people who do not watch  baseball , the term switch hitter means nothing. The term applies to a batter who can hit from both sides of the batting plate, he is neither right or left handed.  Since my days in school, I have thought I was left-handed, doing things right-handed sometimes felt wrong to me.   Today, not only starts a new year for me but probably a new way of life as my right-hand joints are so severely damaged I am forced to use my left hand more than I usually would.   Until recently - within the last 20 years - if you were at school and tried to write left-handed you were punished. In some religions to this day, being left-handed is considered as a sign of  Satan .
