You may think this is an impossibiltiy, but it could happen. Online reports tell of an Earthquake every 2 1/2 hours in a 24-hour period. While many could be a tremor, coming this close together there would be no respite for the ground.
If you drop a stone in a pond, the ripple may be small, but when you add the next ripple the effect is doubled, and so on. People don't realise Spain rests on the edge of three tectonic plates.
In the late 18th century, a tsunami which began in mid-Atlantic swamped Portugal, and cities as far inland as Seville reported waves of over 50 feet. The damage was so much, the city was saved by being put under martial law, and haing an army officer delegate jobs.
In the late 19th century, a huge wave began in the North Sea which swept across the Netherlands and Northern Germany leaving several cities under water for days.

Each chamber is kept in place by its ptressure with the surrounfding chambers, if one popped, the chambers around would expand; the expansion of these chambers would cause massive tears, and an immeasurable release of inert power and magma.
