 The Caldera


In my opinion, American scientists are working under two misconceptions concerning the caldera at Las Palmas.

A - If the caldera explodes, there will be a tidal wave heading to the USA. From its position, the countries which are most likely to get the wave are in North West Africa, as the island is off their coast by only a short distance.

B1 - They are assuming the wave will grow in strength, and be able to reach that coast - I doubt it very much.
B 2- The wave will cause a tidal wave of 15 feet to engulf the Eastern states of the USA. Wrong, on two accounts; first, the wave - if it gets the strength - will probably hit the coast of South America or the West Indies.
