One of the largest scam projects in the world of publishing is Vanity Publishing.
In terms you can relate to this scam works this way.
A "publisher" will contact you with a request to publish your book, being a writer this will get your blood rushing until you read the small print.
This firm will take out an option on a second book if the first book is a success. Who pays for the publishing cost of the first book? You do.
So, you publish a book that is a success, why should you as a self-published author take out an option which gives credit for a second book to people who had no faith in your ability?
