Thanksgiving

 Ardennes 1944


While the weekend of the 24th of November will be celebrated in the USA as Thanksgiving, I give my thanks at Christmas to the 19,000 US soldiers who died during the winter of 1944 in the Ardennes Offensive AJA The Battle of the Bulge without whose help Europe would have fallen to the Nazi jackboots as the French Generals said the Germans would not drive tanks through the forest, even though it almost happened only 20 years before.

      Thank you for the compliment. This article could well trace the numerous ways the USA has saved people over the world after the French mess things up, and leave. I had a discussion on FB some while ago, with a man from Mozambique (West Africa) who was going on about American Imperialism; he soon shut up when I told him that his country was helped many times during the 70's by foreign mercenaries.

      I tell people I am a social historian as well as a writer; I write usually with no personal opinion.

 The lady is NOT my type Though I am olde, and have standards, I am not a stic-in-the-mud, it does take someting nasty to offend me, and for the second time it has happened.  As with the first incident , the offense involved a young colored lady with larrge breasts, I have nothing againsr coloured ladies, I wasbot offended by this laady asking to see my penis as soon as we chatted, it was a little weird she was so forawrd when she'd only been chatting a few minutes to ask.
