Why I have returned to writing short stories

Why I write short stories.
I have gone back to writing short stories for several reasons, the main one being I find it hard to write at any length these days. With few if any sales for my e-books, I am not tempted to write at length as the previous attempts resulted in achieving one thing, making me feel useless as a writer.

Another reason is that my style of writing is not to pad the pages with lots of detail that does not move the story on. As one character in one of my stories says "I write like Mickey Spillane, not Jane Austen, If something is in my story, it is there to add to the story, not to add to be a page filler."

 The lady is NOT my type Though I am olde, and have standards, I am not a stic-in-the-mud, it does take someting nasty to offend me, and for the second time it has happened.  As with the first incident , the offense involved a young colored lady with larrge breasts, I have nothing againsr coloured ladies, I wasbot offended by this laady asking to see my penis as soon as we chatted, it was a little weird she was so forawrd when she'd only been chatting a few minutes to ask.
