My Russian following.
To some people, the knowledge that this blog has a large following in Ukraine may come as a surprise, but not to me, for many years I have had a significant following in the old Soviet bloc.
I put this down to the fact that I can write easier like Len Deighton than Ian Flemming.
I am used to living with few luxuries, years ago, I turned down a writing contract for this reason.
I could not relate to the world of the wealthy, so I was unable to write about their lives. I see myself more in the mold of Harry Palmer than James Bond.
