Headaches and heartaches
Tonight I started the mammoth task of re-editing my 120 page story "A Sailor's Love," in the hope it may win another award at https://www.facebook.com/TheIndiePENdents as did "Chronicles of Mark Johnson," two years ago.
At the back of my mind is the thought, why should I bother?
The task involves a lot of work and for what reward? Perhaps a quick blip on the ranking at Amazon as one copy gets sold.
A recent survey claimed most writers make less than $1,000 per annum. I would be happy to make $100 per annum, at least that way I would get some joy in thinking somebody cared for my work. I never expected a lot, the meagre $10 a month was my target but that appears out of my grasp.
