Who will push the button?

 Iran is the threat

Unlike Jeremy Corbyn, and his Labour cromnies, who live in a world that passed before most of them were concieved I have never considered Russia a threat.
Sure, they sent planes over here through the 80s, it was treated as a running joke between the crews.
There are things to recall when considering a threat. First, many Russians living in the 70s, and even 80s eithe lived through, or heard stories of the life and struggles of the siege of Stalingrad, and didn't want those days to be repeated.
Also, during this period, The Russia Corbyn was worried about was going through a series of revolution which were more important, as they were hapening, not just a fairy tale threat. With Czechoslovakia, then Hungary and Poland breaking away, the strength they had was greatly reduced. The Iron Curtain was no longer a threat as the border could not be stabilsed.
Then, as now, there was always internal conflict too, and now the collapse of the armed forces with regard to the invasion of Ukraine shown the lack of cohesion within the committee.
Afghanistan, and Ukraine show the great weakenesses within the state, it is an old tactic going back centuries that the best way to divert the public attention from internal issues is to start war elsewhere, the Argentine did this with the war in the Falklands.
I have always considered Iran as the major threat, they are a state dedicated to the destruction, and destabiblisation of the Middle East with the destruction of Isreal.
