Put to rest, at last

Betrayed on the field of Battle by his friends. Unhorsed and begging for a ride, then brutally killed and then taken into Leicester, where his body was stabbed and poked like a carcass of a pig. That is no way to treat the last king of England to die in battle.

Last night, the bones were identified beyond doubt to King Richard iii's, amazing to think after all these centuries that there was a direct descendant, living in the USA.

One of the main identify facts was a savage cut made by a halberd, which was a medieval weapon akin to a cleaver on a pole. In the hands of an expert it was as lethal as a sword.
